Thank you for checking out our annual service learning and volunteer scholarships. These are just three that are directly connected to our program via campus and community donors. All applicants are encouraged to also check out our MiraCosta general scholarships. This year we are excited to offer three different scholarships, collectively awarding $5,000. Each scholarship may offer multiple awards ranging from $500 to $1,000.
Kiwanis Club of Carlsbad (Opens Spring 2025)

Eligible applicants must be a member of the MiraCosta College Service Learning Program
To be considered, an applicant should have:
- GPA of 2.5 or higher
- 25 hours per semester of community service (service learning and/or volunteer hours)
To apply, please provide the information requested in the application packet:
- Information about you and your background
- Activities and work experience
- A short letter or essay describing your educational and community service goals
- Letter of recommendation from a professor, mentor, or club advisor
Submit your application to the Service Learning & Volunteer Center through email (servicelearning@miracosta.edu) or by dropping it off (located in room 3306, next to Admissions & Records). We will provide it to the Kiwanis Club of Carlsbad for you!
Spring 2024 Wilkinson Service Award Scholarship (Opens Spring 2025)
Congratulations to the 2024 Wilkinson Service Award Scholarship recipients! - Lehli Burke, Maria Gomez Ventura, Adelahida Matias Ramirez, Melissa Perez, Christin Philip, and Lara Soraggi Lobato!
Requirements
- Student must have completed 6 or more units at MiraCosta College at the time of application, with a 2.0 or greater Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Must have completed a minimum of 15 hours of service learning hours (course connected) or 50 volunteer hours (co-curricualr/non-course connected)
- Service activities must be performed while the student is enrolled at MiraCosta College, and service hours must be documented through the MiraCosta Service Learning and Volunteer Center). Student must upload their current Service Learning/Volunteer service history report into the application.

Spring 2024 Cal Coast Service Award scholarship (Opens Spring 2025)
Congratulations to the 2024 Cal Coast Service Award Scholarship recipients! - Augustin Dao, Chaney Guo, Minerva Martinez, Sheila Moedano, Anh Tong, and Song Vy Tran!
Requirements
- Must qualify to apply for FAFSA
- Must have completed 12 or more units at MiraCosta College with a 3.0 or greater Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Must be currently enrolled in nine (9) or more units at MiraCosta College
- Completed 25 hours of volunteer hours/service learning (hours must be documented through the MiraCosta Service Learning & Volunteer Center)
