MiraCosta College wants you to achieve your educational goals and Online Orientation is where you get started!
Orientation gets you on the right track and keeps you going with the information you need to arrive at your educational destination. Online Orientation includes two components:
- Online Orientation introduces you to terminology, academic programs, student services, and gives you the planning tools you'll need to succeed at MiraCosta College.
- First Semester Ed Plan is a self-guided tool that helps you select semester coursework that aligns with your educational goals.
Complete Spartan Start in your SURF account through Orientation. This tool highlights our beautiful campuses and empowers you with critical information to prepare you for your college experience. Additionally, this fresh and interactive approach to online orientation allows you the flexibility to navigate orientation at your own pace.

When Should I Complete Orientation?
Complete Orientation after submitting an application to attend MiraCosta College and before registering for classes for the first time. If you cannot complete the process before registration, you may still register for classes for which you meet the prerequisites. However, we do encourage you to complete Online Orientation before you register for your next semester.
