SCHEDULE AN ONLINE COUNSELING APPOINTMENT
Express Sessions with a General Counselor
Express Sessions are designed for students to get their questions answered quickly and are "first-come, first-served." Please note that these sessions are structured for quick questions and a follow-up regular appointment may be necessary. Students can sign up by calling 760.795.6620 or using our new Live Chat feature available through the “Ask The Spartan” portal which is available 24/7 in the bottom right corner of your screen and on our homepage.
To reach Counseling staff, type “Live Chat” and if someone is available you will be connected. Please note: Most “Live Chat” is available during regular business hours.
We offer Express Sessions through both in-person and live Zoom consultations over your computer, laptop, or smartphone. When you sign up, our staff will ask your preference and give you a timeframe when the counselor will reach out.
Express Sessions can fill up very quickly, so we advise students to contact us as early as possible to get your name on the day's list.
Veterans Counseling

We are committed to serving veterans and their dependents who are new to college or returning to continue their education.

Workshops For First-Time-to-College Students
Are you a new-to-college student trying to pick classes? Having trouble figuring out how to select your courses or what will transfer? Need some basic information on what you need to succeed at MiraCosta?
We have an online workshop for YOU!
Our "New Student Course Selection Workshops" are live Zoom sessions run by our counselors and designed to get you up-to-speed on the basics of building your schedule. Workshops are limited to 10 students and you must have a MiraCosta student ID to sign up; click here to register.
These workshops are for new students who have never attended college, are returning after taking some time off, and high school students. If you are using military benefits and are new to MiraCosta, we have special support for you, too!
